After spending a week writing a nine page paper, I decided it was okay for me to take a small break before editing my feature to do a survey on…unpopular opinions!!! Who is excited?!?!
Well, here goes:
1. A selection of television programs you do not care for.
Two and a Half Men, The O.C., The Vampire Diaries, and Gossip Girl.
2. A selection of musical artists you do not care for.
I’m going to say Nickelback because they make me embarrassed to know that they are Canadian. I dislike their music. All sounds the same. All sounds angry. Never interesting. Just seriously, they are dreadful.
3. A selection of celebrities you couldn’t care less about.
All I can say are the Kardashians. Like honestly, how the hell did they get famous? They are so annoying. Tabloid seeking media junkies and rich because of their famous step daddy. UGH. They are so annoying. Please stop marketing your life!!!!
4. A hobby you “don’t get”.
A hobby I never really understood is shoe collecting or hat collecting. I don’t mean like high heel shoe collecting. But I mean basketball shoe collecting. I mean let’s face it. The only reason you’re buying those basketball shoes is because they have the Jordan label on them. Otherwise, they just look the same with different colours. Or maybe I am ignorant. Probably the latter I don’t know.
Another thing I never understood was why people keep those stupid ass stickers on their caps. Like Yeah, you don’t have to show everyone their authentic. You just look like a dumbass.
5. A habit you find disgusting.
Picking your nails. That’s just gross. Nothing else to say about that.
6. Something in school you really liked doing that everyone else hated.
I really liked Reading Baskets. A lot of people hated it because they thought reading was nerdy or boring. Seriously. Someone thought reading the dictionary was more interesting that a fiction novel. A kid in grade nine even proudly told me he only read one novel in his whole life. He said he’d rather read from his phone. I wanted to punch him in the face. No kid at that age needs a freakin Blackberry anyways.
7. Your favorite household chore.
Vacuuming because I like the crackly sounds it makes when you pick up dirt.
8. Popular video games that make you go “meh”.
Call of Duty but maybe it’s because I’ve never played it before. Boys will be boys. And girls who post up pics of them playing COD and trying to act cute for boys sicken me.
9. PC or MAC?
I’ve always been faithful to the PC and I know how to function a PC extremely well. But I’ve used a MAC before and I like how it is so flexible for art and the battery life is much longer. But otherwise, I don’t see much of a difference. I personally think Macs are just more stylish.
10. A sport you don’t like, for whatever reason.
I actually dislike basketball and volleyball for the same reasons. I can’t jump high, I have terrible aim and I am actually very uncoordinated when playing those sports. To be frank, I’m not much for team sports because people don’t enjoy passing to me. They just get this pre-conceived notion that I’m really bad. They’re probably right 90% of the time.
11. A sport you really like, for whatever reason.
Everyone knows I really like Track. Some people would think it’s a soft sport because all we do is run. But if you actually know how hard it is to run, you would think differently. It takes a lot of determination to run around in circles every day to improve your times. You even have to control your speed and watch your arms. There’s a lot more to running than you think. And of course, winning a race is always so rewarding.
12. Television programs you love but have gotten shit for liking.
This goes on and off. I really like How I Met Your Mother but a lot of people think it’s not funny at all. I just like how the story is and I think the group of friends are really cool.
Also, I have gotten shit for liking The Office because people don’t “get the humour.” Like seriously, do you really have to have things laid out in front of you to understand the underlying themes??
13. Musical artists you love but have gotten shit for liking.
I’ve gotten some shit for liking Justin Bieber. So what if I think he’s catchy?? He may come off as arrogant, but the kid is charming!! And adorable! Leave me aloneeeeee.
14. A hobby you have/find interesting that other people bother you over/make fun of.
I think thrifting is interesting and fun. It’s kind of popular right now, but some people think it’s really dirty because it deals with used things. Yes, it is gross sometimes, but you can find some real gems in the mix!!! Give it a try!!
15. A habit you have that other people bug you over.
I guess you could say I tend to stay on the computer a lot. I guess I should really stop but I think I go on the computer to fill voids in my life….
16. Something in school you hating doing and it felt like everyone else loved.
Is it bad that I sometimes hated gym? Don’t get me wrong, I love to play sports but I hated gym because everyone would underestimate my abilities and therefore, I was discouraged from playing a lot of team sports.
17. The household chore that makes you want to shoot your own face off.
Cleaning the toilet and tub. It’s disgusting.
18. A selection of video games that you enjoy that perhaps you really shouldn’t.
Grand Theft Auto Vice City (I get to kill people)
19. A celebrity crush that maybe even you don’t understand.
I have a thing for Justin Long. I don’t know. He’s really cute. Patrick Chan. Everyone thinks he’s odd looking but I think he is so handsome and cute.
20. Free rant on whatever grinds your gears at the moment.
Something that’s really bothering me is the fact that I always like guys who are complete jerks. But it’s their bad assery that makes them hot. AND IT TAKES ME FOREVER TO GET OVER THEM. IT IS SO GODDAMN AWKWARD. And they always like the same type of GURLS (AKA MY POLAR OPPOSITE)
Another rant I have is the fact that news minors have taken over our courses and I am stuck taking History of Journalism next semester. That’s bullshit. But maybe it’s for the better. I heard Critical Issues was not that great.
Another rant I also have is the fact that the Kardashians are famous for nothing. Why are you always in the tabloids? WHY? Please go away. You guys are so annoying. I don’t give two shits about your reality show. And no one really cares if you’re dating someone new. Why do tabloids have to publicize such bullshit all the time? Why are they still being published? They make brains turn to mush!! Didn’t you know?? It’s a known scientific fact.
